LEESBURG - The Lady Jackets of Leesburg High School 1-0 (1-0) opened their 2011-2012 season with a impressive 54-13 win over Ocala Lake Weir at the Hive last night. 2012 University of West Florida signee Baylie Bridges became a member of the Leesburg High School Basketball 1000 Point Club Tuesday night. Bridges a senior scored 19 points in a 54-13 win over Lake Weir. She entered the game with 994 points and now has 1,013 points.

"She's been my starting point guard from Day 1," Leesburg coach Mark Oates said. "She comes in every day ready to work. She's a true leader in every sense of the word.
Junior Ashley Perry the leading scorer for the Lady Jackets last season chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Lady Jackets begin their quest for the fourth State Final Four in six years, the programs sixth overall. Ninth year head coach Mark Oates squad is the sixth ranked team in the Orlando Sentinel Super 16 Girls High School Basketball Poll this week.
Joharra Russell scored eight points, and Asia Whitlow chipped in five points and seven rebounds.
Leesburg (1-0) will host Mount Dora at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
