Tech ladies easily win opener, November 10, 2010

WVU Tech’s Brittany Crawford takes it to the basket over Keyoshia Wright (Leesburg High School, Leesburg Florida) in a win over the Bluefield State College Lady Blues.
MONTGOMERY — The WVU Tech women handed first-year head coach Jenna Lehmann a win in her debut last Tuesday.

Tech trailed 2-0 early, but a Courtney Sturdivant bucket knotted the contest at 2-all, and Style Harper gave the Golden Bears the lead at the 17:34 mark on a two-pointer off a Sturdivant steal and assist, sparking a 14-0 run over a four-minute span.

BSC got a steal and layup from Lawanna Gravely, then Tech rattled off 10 unanswered points to extend the lead to 19 points before the Lady Blues’ Keyoshia Wright hit a free throw.
