Beach’s Amber Curtis dribbles past Leesburg defender Joharra Russell during Friday night’s first-round game in the Savannah Holiday Classic. Curtis had 15 points in Beach’s 81-47 win.

Amber Curtis is no threat to Paula Dean, but then Dean has no chance in a one-on-one game with Curtis.

Curtis, the best player on the best team in the region, had an excellent all-around game in leading unbeaten Beach (10-0) to an 81-47 rout of Leesburg (5-6) in an opening round game of the Savannah Holiday Classic basketball tournament Friday night at the Beach gym.

Beach, playing in the Columbia Square division, will play the winner of the Alcovy-Statesboro game at 8:30 tonight at the Beach gym.

The Bulldog senior had 15 points, five assists, four steals and two blocked shots in the easy win over the Florida team.

Afterwards she revealed her talents aren’t limited to the basketball court.
